George R. Reilly, “Sarge”, 51, of Bellevue, Nebraska and formerly of Rutherford, NJ where he was raised, passed away on September 27, 2020. George proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for over 20 years, with his last years spent in Iraq before retiring. George was the recipient of numerous medals during his many years of service. After retiring from the military, George served as a Federal Reserve Officer in New York City, NY, East Rutherford, NJ and finally transferring to Nebraska in 2017. George was a proud member of many local American Legion Posts. He loved riding his motorcycle with the Veteran Riders, was a true Giants & Yankees fan, loved to golf (although not very good) and was always the life of the party. Beloved husband of Carrie Reilly. Loving father of Liam Reilly, Peyton Reilly and the late Ryan Reilly. Stepfather to Andrew Lapitan, Ryan Bailey and Joshua Bailey. Devoted son of Eddy Reilly (nee Hunter) and stepson of Marilyn Penambere and Jim Penambere. Cherished brother of Kelly Reilly and husband Sergio Rodrigues, Shannon Reilly-Wong and husband Mark, Deanna Gilligan and husband Jack and Dana Coffaro and husband Joe. Caring uncle of Skyler, Maylee, Shawn, Joseph and Cameron. A Memorial Visitation and Service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Village Green Park located on Broad Street between Third and Fourth Streets in Carlstadt. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The PTSD Foundation of America, 9724 Derrington Rd, Houston, TX 77064 or by visiting ptsdusa.org.
