My sincerest heartfelt condolences to the entire Renke family, especially Gerard. I was in Florida when I heard the very sad news about Jimmy 😢 I pray the memories will ease your pain & loss. I can still remember his smile and the great times many years ago. RIP my friend, you were loved 💜. So nice to find there are such good people, a complete stranger who cared enough & tried to help, There should be more people in the world like Annie 💕💕
In closing please know although Jimmy is not with you physically, he remains in your heart forever. God Bless you all, through this most difficult time. Sincerely, Janet Pedersen

I didn’t know James but I was with him when he died. We had just left a family bbq in Mahwah and driving home. We didn’t witness the accident, but seemed to arrive shortly after. Neither police nor paramedics had arrived yet. There were very few of us on the road...we stopped and jumped out of the car to see if anyone was hurt or needed help. When we approached the car, it had rolled on it’s side with broken glass and tree branches all around. As I looked closer, I could see someone lying next to the car. There was another gentleman there trying to help move branches out of the way. I knelt next to James and saw that he was still breathing. I tried talking with him, telling him he would be ok. I held his hand until his last breath. I don’t mean to upset anyone by sharing this, but wanted you to know that he didn’t die alone. I didn’t know James, or his name until now, but I will never forget him. I am sorry for your loss and wish you love and comfort.

Annie, I pray you come back to this site and see my message to you. My name is Donna Renke Lovisa, I am Jimmy’s sister. My family and I have been so filled with grief over the death of our brother and how it happened. The thoughts that are still going nonstop through my head have devastated me, especially not knowing for sure what happened if he suffered and that he was alone. We did find out that Danny one of the owners of Bogerts estates where my brother lived saw the accident happen and ran over to help and realized it was Jimmy who of course Danny knew. It was one thing to know that Danny was there but now to know that you a complete stranger stopped to try to help almost restores my faith in that there are still people willing to get involved in helping someone in need. I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am knowing you were there comforting him and holding his hand. Even though it was heart wrenching to read your message I am especially grateful that you took the time to find my brothers obituary, Just knowing that he was not alone is comforting, you Annie were his Angel that fateful day and I thank you with all my heart. You would have liked him most everyone who met him did. He was kind ,generous and funny. It hurts so much to know he is no longer with us but he will always be forever in my heart. Again I can’t thank you enough, God bless you , be well and stay safe. Sincerely Donna
