Thomas James Cox, Sr., 82, of Carlstadt since 1974 and formerly of Jersey City, passed away at home peacefully on April 9, 2021. Mr. Cox served in the U.S. Army. Prior to recently retiring in 2020, he was a Zoning Official in the Borough of Carlstadt for 16 years. Prior, he was the owner and operator of Special T Transportation and before that, Ming’s Pub in Jersey City and initially The Colonial in North Bergen which hosted many banquets. Mr. Cox was a member of the Carlstadt Republican Club. Beloved husband of May (nee Kondratuk) Cox. Loving father of Yvonne Cox, Danielle (nee Cox) Faivre, Thomas J. Cox, Jr. and his wife Veasna and the late James Cox. Father-in-law of Thomas Faivre. Cherished grandfather of Thomas, Tyler, Tanner and Travis Faivre and Logan, Jaden and Penelope Cox and great grandfather of Rylee, Carter and Addison Faivre. Dear brother of William Cox and the late John D. Cox, Jr. and Robert Cox. Brother-in-law of Betsy Cox. A Funeral Service will be held at the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad Street, Carlstadt on Monday, April 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Interment Berry Lawn Cemetery, Carlstadt. Visitation Sunday 1-5 PM.
